Industry : Paint
Problem : Manufacturer of paints introducing a new nanotechnology based paint line, however, could not control the paint color in each batch. Customer desired to find the exact reason behind the problem and solution to control it.
Solution : Allegiance NanoSolutions studies the nanocomposites used in the paint samples and tried to understand the complex reactions generated when nanocomposits were mixed with latex dispersions and additives. Various techniques such as Electron microscopy, AFM and spectroscopy were used to understand variation in particle size and identified possible reasons to optimize manufacturing conditions.

Problem : Properties of nanomaterials appeared to be changing, when material was produced in bulk quantities. However, desired properties were seen in lab prepared sample.
Solution : Bulk manufacturing and lab preparation processes were thoroughly understood by Allegiance NanoSolutions and samples were collected. Analysis on the collected samples evaluated the contents in the samples and indicated the generation of contaminants in bulk manufactured sample.
